Let’s be honest: the idea of sipping olive oil and vinegar straight from a small cup used to sound terrible to me.
Years ago, while visiting a small town in Connecticut, my husband and I saw a sign for a tasting room. I walked in with a heavy dose of skepticism—and a very obvious "yuck" face. When the associate offered me a sample of a dark fig balsamic, I hesitantly took a sip, bracing myself for that harsh, acidic bite we all associate with vinegar.
Instead, my eyes went wide. It was a revelation. It was incredibly smooth, naturally sweet, and deeply complex. I never knew vinegar could actually be drinkable. Then we tried the olive oil. Instead of the flat, heavy liquid I was used to cooking with, it was vibrant, fresh, and bursting with real flavor. We spent the next hour tasting other varieties, completely blown away. That single afternoon shattered my expectations and ruined ordinary grocery store staples for me forever.
I created Wild Pink Olive & Vine because everyone deserves to have that exact same moment of discovery.
